David C Walther CLU®, CFP®
Co-Founder and Wealth Management Advisor
David was born in the Bay Area but grew up in a suburb of Chicago. He received his BS in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan in 1994 and began his career at Northwestern Mutual in 1999 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since moving back to the Bay Area in 2006, David continues to deliver comprehensive financial planning with the team of professionals at Preservation Wealth Management who provide exceptional knowledge and service throughout the entire planning process for clients. David is a member of several professional associations, such as the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and the National Association of Certified Financial Planners. David holds his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional certification, CLU®, Series 7, Series 66, and California Life & Health Licenses. David lives in Marin County with his wife, Sashini and sons, Declan and Dane. David loves the outdoors, in particular hiking and camping as well as playing tennis. He enjoys spending time with his family, training and walking his four rescue dogs, and wine tasting in beautiful Napa and Sonoma County.
Patrick K. Williams CFP®, ChFC®
Co-Founder and Wealth Management Advisor
Patrick grew up in Santa Barbara, CA after spending his early childhood in Birmingham, AL. Patrick started his career at Northwestern Mutual in 2010 after graduating from San Francisco State University where he received a BS in Corporate Finance. Passionate about helping busy professionals connect the dots of their financial lives, Patrick delivers comprehensive financial planning and robust wealth management strategies. Patrick also specializes in working with tech employees with stock based compensation. Patrick holds his CFP® certification, and ChFC® designation, along with his series 7, 26, 63, 65, and California Life & Health Licenses. Patrick lives in Walnut Creek, CA with his wife Alexis and is the ultimate #girldad to his three daughters, Charlotte, Chloe, and Colette. When Patrick is not busy running around with the family, he enjoys spending time with his closest friends, staying active, and following his favorite sports teams.
Andrew united with Northwestern Mutual in 2012 and then joined David Walther's team in 2018. He works closely with clients as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor through a holistic approach to planning. Andrew was born and raised in Petaluma, went to Simpson University in Redding, and has been in the financial services industry for approximately 10 years. He holds Series 7, Series 66, and California Life & Health Licenses. In his spare time, Andrew loves spending time with his wife Manpreet, is involved in his church, and follows the NBA.
Leslie Widmann CLU®, MBA, CFP®
Director of Business Analysis and Planning
A graduate of Harvard University with an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, Leslie Widmann works closely with clients and spearheads the practice’s marketing operations. She has over 20 years of experience in business leadership and operations and holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses as well as her California Life & Health License. Leslie first met the Walther team as a client and was so compelled by the thoughtful and creative approach to planning that she joined the team. Originally from Massachusetts, Leslie now lives in the Hayward Hills east of San Francisco with her husband Dan and their daughter Erin. In her free time she enjoys making ice cream, volunteering at Erin’s school, and hiking the beautiful Bay Area trails just outside their house.
Laura runs the investment client services division. She is our specialist for all investment services. Laura also assists with team projects and day to day operations. Laura brings knowledge and experience from the financial and banking industries for over 13 years. She is a graduate of California State University of Fresno with a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance Option. She currently holds Series 6, Series 63, and California Life & Health licenses. Laura lives in Katy, Texas with her three children – Nya, Vera, and Royce. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and being in the company of friends and family.
Ale came to Northwestern Mutual in the fall of 2021 and then joined David Walther’s team in early 2023. She helps oversee the insurance side of the business and is passionate about education and helping others along their financial journey. She is a graduate of Southern Adventist University, in Chattanooga, TN, where she completed her BS in business administration. Ale currently holds a Series 6, Series 63, and California Life and Health licenses.
Ale was born in Texas but raised in the beautiful country of Venezuela. She credits her deep love of travel to her adventurous childhood and will use any excuse to take a trip.
She currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband, Josh, and their 2 dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys scuba diving, rock climbing, and working in her garden.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, Brian lives with his wife, five children and many animals on a farm in rural Robertson County, Middle Tennessee. A graduate of Tennessee Tech University where he studied economics and international business, Brian spent years studying abroad in the Netherlands, England, Finland, and Russia and learned firsthand about different cultures through world travel. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification as well as CLU® and ChFC® designations and is Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66 licensed, in addition to having both a Tennessee and California Life and Health Insurance license. Coming to the team with over a decade of experience with Northwestern Mutual both in the field and at Home Office, he enjoys the challenge of developing and implementing holistic financial plans for clients as well as being able to provide solutions to solve client’s financial needs on a day-to-day basis. In addition to enjoying time with his family and animals, Brian is passionate about regenerative agriculture principles, he enjoys reading, exploring the woods, is a Dominican Tertiary and an Extra Class amateur radio operator (KE4JMJ).
